Paris, at the author's house, 1797. 2 volumes in-8 of [6]-222 and [2]-271 pages, half red morocco, spine with nerves, jaspered head (19th century binding). Original edition of the diary kept day by day of a prisoner held in the Conciergerie, with abundant details. It is adorned with an astonishing frontispiece showing a guillotine in action in front of heads cut off neatly in small piles. Numerous passages and redacted words, sometimes masked with paper.
