Restoration of use and maintenance. 18th century period. H : 89 x W : 70 x D : 49 cm Etienne Doirat (1675-1732) came from a family of craftsmen - earthenware makers, carpenters - who had lived in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine since the early years of the 17th century. Etienne Doirat was the son of the mason Joseph Doirat and Michelle Ferlu, sister of Pierre-Isaac Ferlu, a master merchant and cabinetmaker. His younger brother Pierre-Michel will follow the path of a master cabinetmaker like him. It is in the first years of the 18th century that he obtains his master's degree. He worked all his life on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine for a rich French and foreign clientele. Often of a sublime character, his furniture is mostly Regency style.
