"Iron Lady" by Françoise Abraham (born 1962) French sculptor and painter In resin monogrammed LV. Artist's certificate. Dimensions: H: 82; W: 29; D: 22 cm. Françoise Abraham has been dancing since the age of six, trained in classical dance by the teachers of the Paris Opera. She very quickly discovered contemporary dance: it will be forever marked by the symbiosis of life in movement. Form in space with fantasy, exuberance, lightness, roundness and humour. This, in a few words, is the personality of her work. She retains from this period, the discipline of methodical work of a classical training complemented by an unbridled spirit necessary for contemporary dance. These qualities are found in her sculpted work in which she puts her imagination and fantasy at the service of a solid technique, acquired in the workshops of Italian and Parisian artists. Françoise makes her sculptures dance. Demanding, rigorous, she obtains tense forms full of sensuality. Her feminine characters propel themselves into space with speed and energy. And curiously, although she likes to cultivate her curves, her sculptures show an astonishing lightness, with a touch of elegance, an ounce of humor in rupture of balance, which suits them marvelously. The patinas of the bronzes, with their surprising colours, play with the light to give an extra sparkle to these magnificently smooth pieces. Their curves love the hand and the touch. Naturally the coloured resin, a personal technique developed by Françoise, allows fantasy and gives free rein to her imagination overflowing with fertility. Strong of this new field of creativity, these coloured resins tinted in the mass are unique in the Art market, with an always original decoration and a zest of madness. She continues her permanent research with accessories that are as alive as ever.
