"Bird", from the "Palimpsests" series, 2019. Photography. Unique piece, inclusion of two prints in an old book, label on the back with author's signature, date and title. 22 x 32 cm.
Marina Black (Russian and Canadian) studied history and painting before art became her main activity. The central themes of her work are death as much as anguish, beauty as much as ugliness, identity as much as memory. The author works with silver, digital and contact technologies and pays particular attention to the tactile dimension of the prints and the play of fragments.
His works are part of the collection of the Municipal Museum of Malaga, the Alliance Française of Toronto and the IZOLYATSIA non-governmental arts foundation in Ukraine, among others.
