Concerning interventions in favour of his son-in-law Jean-Pierre Hoschedé and his son Michel Monet who were both doing their military service, the first in order to have him posted to Paris to "give him more time for his studies" (Giverny, 13 April 1899), the second in order to have him posted to Vernon, near Giverny (London, January and 26 February 1901).
