Rarely has a new car received so much praise from the trade press: Auto Week, Car and Driver, Road and Track and the best French magazines praised the new Porsche. The line is sublime and the behaviour absolutely irreproachable. The public is conquered and never again will front engine Porsches be denigrated like the 924 was. The 944 fills a gap between the small 924 and the much more exclusive 911 SC. A more powerful 220 hp turbo version supported the normal 944 from 1986, then in 1988 a limited series called 944 Turbo S, a 250 hp version well equipped (air conditioning, power steering, leather, hifi pack, fog lights, etc...) It will be present in the range, in coupé and cabriolet, between 1981 and 1991 for 162,452 units produced. The Porsche 944 shown on these pages is an absolutely faultless specimen. It was first driven in Spain on April 25, 1986 and stayed in the Valencia region until 2018. With its red colour and black leather interior, the configuration is classic and discreet. The 944 is always maintained by the Porsche network or by specialists, the original condition is close to perfection and the very dry climate of southern Spain will preserve this 944 from any trace of corrosion. The maintenance booklet is complete, and bears witness to regular use, which today ensures that the car is in perfect working order. The timing belt and the power steering and alternator belts have just been replaced after a major overhaul. All fluids were also changed by the specialist Ravé Automobiles in September 2020.
