Famous character claiming to be the dolphin Louis XVII, son of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette, who survived his detention in the Temple prison. Rare and interesting autograph letter signed: "Louis" (undated) addressed to his daughter, Amélie Naundorff, also known as Princess Amélie de Bourbon (1819-1891), 1 page in-4°, text in Dutch. An old French translation is attached. Pliures. Translation: "My dear Amélie, hug from the whole house, cat, duck, dog and hen and don't forget even the old Appert. I have bought you a piano and I hope that in a fortnight you will play it at Madame Holande's house. Yet, prepare yourself, slowly, quietly, that is, quietly for the departure. What is signed by Édouard, give it immediately to Thomas to have it sent to Louistophles as soon as possible. You must have no fear, but also nothing can be done against our advice. The good heavenly father protects us all until goodbye".
