Biography:
Sigismondo Pandolfo (Rimini 1417-Rimini 1468), Condotierre, se
distinguished himself by his value as a military leader. He was in the service of the Pope (1435), of
Venice (1437) and of a league formed against the Duke of Milan Philip Marie
Visconti (1439). Later he attacked Pope Pius II, but was defeated at Senigallia.
(1461) and excommunicated. He finally went to fight the Turks in Morea (1464-
1465). He embellishes the city of Rimini.
