To be compared with the Return of the Prodigal Son of the Master of the Annunciation to the Shepherds (ca. 1635) from the Capodimonte Museum in Naples (Canvas; 94 x 123 cm; Inv. 5 84590), identified by some historians with Francesco Fracanzano (Monopoli 1612 - Naples 1656), by others with Bartolomeo Bassante (Brindisi 1618 - Naples 1648) (Cf. Achille Della Ragione, Il vero nome del Maestro dell' Annuncio ai pastori; figures 30 & 31 - Naples 2018).
