BEETHOVEN Ludwig van (1770-1827). L.A.S. "Beethov [en]" with MUSIC, Wien 26 February 1823, to the music publisher Carl Friedrich PETERS at the "Music Office" in Leipzig; 3 pages in-4, address on the spine with large red wax stamp at its LVB number (small lack of paper due to stamp breakage, small marginal cracks, some formerly restored, with damage to some letters including the last two of the signature); in German. Nice letter on his Bagatelles, with two musical quotations , and on the Missa solemnis. He always used to send on Saturdays to the post office all that had as destination the North. But he has since changed houses, and his new home is at least three-quarters of an hour from the post office. So he sent the parcel for Peters to the Meissel Brothers, who send their parcels to the post office car on Fridays. He does not know which of the two arrangements is the better one. But as a man of honour he deems it necessary to give the assurance that all the missing sheets were duly delivered for Peters to Meissel. He adds a few remarks, with a musical quotation of a passage from one of the trifles or trinkets [Op. 119 no. 3], and indicates (another musical quotation) how the copied notes are presented, although they must all be printed as indicated in the first quotation, and likewise wherever this passage is found.
