Attractive volume in period vellum, bringing together 2 mathematical treatises by the great Oronce Finé (1494-1555).

Original edition of De rebus mathematicis, the last work of Oronce Finé published posthumously by Antoine Mizaud.
Text carefully printed by Michel Vascosan and embellished with more than 170 wood diagrams.
Handwritten ex-libris at the foot of the title.
2) Renouard, Colines, pp. 357-358.
Second separate edition given by Simon de Colines, "improved copy" said Renouard of the 1535 edition whose text was revised by the author himself.
Title placed in the beautiful woodcut frame that the printer reserved for the mathematician's works.
Arithmetic had first appeared in 1532 in the Protomathesis, the famous scientific collection of Oronce Finé, of which it formed the first part.
Important stain in the lower margin at the beginning and end of the volume. Small gallery and wormholes throughout the volume, often affecting the text. Marginal repair to folios n3 and t2 (first work), and I3 (second work). The volume has been replaced in its original binding.
