Very beautiful illustrated edition of Dante, the first with the commentary of the Italian poet Alessandro Vellutello.
Dedicated to Paul III, it is printed in italics and decorated with 87 beautifully crafted woodblocks of different sizes.
An ancient manuscript ex-libris at the bottom of the title, scratched, and other manuscript ex-libris : Biblioteca Robert (18th century). Label ex-libris Jacobi Manzoni (19th century).
White lower part of the last page cut out. Several yellowed notebooks, both jaws split.
