Second edition of the Latin translation by Marin Cureau de La Chambre (1594-1669), after the 1655 translation, of the second book of the Aphorisms of Hippocrates and the first book of Aristotle's Physics.
It contains the Greek text of the two treatises, and, in separate pagination, the French translation of the Aristotelian treatise (43 pp.).
A precious copy in red morocco at the Du Seuil, from the library of the great Colbert: it bears at the top of the title the manuscript ex-libris of the collection, and appears in the catalogue of 1728 (IIe partie, n°9918).
Small stain and freckles on a few leaves, traces of white wax on the plates.
