Les Commentaires de la langue grecque, a monumental work by Guillaume Budé (1468-1540), played a major role in the study of Greek in France in the 16th century.
On the title, a manuscript ex-libris of a monastery (17th century).
Leaflet e1 a little crumpled. Large ink stain at the head of the first introductory leaves, doubled title and a reinforced table leaf in the inner margin. Slightly rusty leaves, the last 8 strongly affected with wetness. The colophon is crossed out with a pen at the end.
