Frontispiece engraved by Jacob van Meurs, dated 1655 and titled Anatomia reformata, portrait of the author by Jonas Suiderhoef, 65 figures in the text and 8 folding plates engraved on copper.
Thomas Bartholin (1616-1680), Danish anatomist and son of the great Caspar Bartholin, made several anatomical discoveries, notably on the milky, thoracic and lymphatic vessels.

Ancient handwritten mentions crossed out on the upper back cover, resulting in a discharge of ink on the frontispiece. Wetness on the whole volume, tear without lack repaired at 3 plates.
