Table turnstile or roulette wheel in ivory and ebony veneer, the square top rests on four small raven feet, the turned shaft encircled by a revolving disc with inlaid dotted numbers designated by a bronze snake. South Germany, 17th century. (Petits manques et restaurations).H.: 36 cm. Only one other example of these turnstiles is known, once belonging to the Duke of Morny and sold on 26 May 1975 when the collections of Baron de Redé and Baron Guy de Rothschild were dispersed.
