MATRIX of BUTTON-CACHET with the arms of the Marshal of CASTELLANE of cylindrical shape out of steel engraved with the weapons of Gules, with the tower donjonnée of three gold coins, masoned of Sable and of the motto of the marshal "Honos ab Amis: "the honor comes to us from the weapons". Napoleon III. Height. 4.2 Diam. 4.5 cm. Provenance: castle of Rochecotte, sale of souvenirs from Talleyand and Castellane. Button matrix seal to the arms of the Marshal of Castellane. Boniface count of Castellane (1788-1862) is raised to the rank of Marshal of France on December 2, 1852. This matrix could have been intended to strike buttons of venery or livery - even to serve as a seal.
