ALBUM OF TEN NINE SHEETS containing CACHES, imprinted with red wax seals of Swiss families. Each sheet may contain up to forty-eight stamps with the names of the families. Rare collection carefully made up of several hundred seals, possibly from the Republic of Bern, including the aristocratic families of the Vaud region. Height 36, width 22 cm. Provenance: - family of the Dukes of Coislin, peer of France; - then collection Birkigt, founder of the brand Hispano-Suiza, castle of Penthes in Geneva; - his descendants. Album of stamps of Bernese families from the former collection of the Marquis de Coislin. Pierre-Adolphe du Cambout (1801-1873), Marquis de Coislin. Originally from Brittany, he owned a library from which this rare collection comes.
