Sumptuous LITURGICAL Ornaments from the reign of LOUIS XIV embroidered with silk, gold and silver threads and enhanced with pearls. Bottom of silver blades wavy in couchure, embroidery in relief of yarn, cannetille, curly and gold and silver lamps, of polychrome silk threads with encroaching past and split stitch. Framing of rich polychrome silk threads. VOILE de CALICE on an embroidered background of spiral or girdled silver thread, with a rich embroidered decoration of interlacing and gold spun arabesques, punctuated with gold cannetilles in couch and guipure, gold sequins and pearls. The whole is strewn with flowers (roses, buttercups, carnations, lilies, columbines, anemones...), foliage and grape vine branches treated in polychrome silk thread with an encroaching past and split stitch. In the centre, a radiant medallion adorned with the portrait of the adolescent Christ wearing a blue tunic. The outline is ornamented with a gold Frisian line. Width 64, Length 75 cm. CORPORAL BURSE with the same decoration, sprinkled with roses, carnations, foliage and grape branches. In the centre, a radiant and undulating eight-pointed Maltese cross, spun and sequined in gold guipure and couchure, decorated with a group of five pearls. Braided border. Height 27.5 cm. Width 22.5 cm. The floral and vegetal decoration, a true "spiritual" garden, invites the faithful or the nuns to practice Charity (the rose), Faith and Hope (the carnation), Chastity (the lily), and to meditate on the Love of Christ (the anemone), the Passion (the grape), the graces of the Holy Spirit (the columbine), etc. The five pearls in the centre of the cross recall the five mysteries meditated upon in the prayer of the Rosary.
