Large and fine Habibian Dwarf in wool and silk (Iran) circa 1975
Velvet in lambswool of silky quality, flowers surrounded by silk on a cotton foundation. Beige field with foliage and garlands of flowers, foliage and stylized turquoise and sky blue palmettes decorated with a very large central rosette with a flowered crown encrusted with a stylized diamond-shaped ruby star-shaped flower.
Four turquoise spandrels with flowered crowns.
Triple borders, the main one ivory with interlacing bulbs and floral buds surrounded by twists of stylized leaves.
Density. Approx 8500 knots per sq. dm2
