Jos Sunnen born in Bech-Kleinmacher. Trained at the monastery school in Maredsous in Belgium in 1914, he moved to Düsseldorf in 1917 to attend art school and established himself there as a freelance artist. In 1940, he relocated his studio to his birthplace in Bech-Kleinmacher, which is now an art gallery.
