Biography : Piat SAUVAGE (1744-1818) He is the first painter of the Prince de Condé and King Louis XVI. He specialized in the imitation of marble and ancient terracotta. His trompe l'oeil imitating antique bas-reliefs adorned the hotels and castles of Paris and its surroundings. He exhibited at the Salon until 1804. He returned to Belgium during the Empire.
