Collection Eugène Dodeigne (1923-2015) A major
figure in 20th century sculpture, Eugène Dodeigne is particularly known for his monumental works in stone with abrupt figuration and great expressive strength. An international artist, his works are now exhibited in the open air in several major cities such as Paris, Hanover, Basel, Brussels and Washington.
Born in July 1923 in Rouvreux, a small village south of Liège, Eugène Dodeigne learns stone carving at a very young age from his father, who teaches him the rudiments of bas-relief before encouraging him to take drawing and modelling courses in Tourcoing.

He exhibited in several Parisian galleries - Claude Bernard, Pierre Loeb and Jeanne Bucher - before being invited to Berlin, Hanover, Rotterdam, Brussels and Pittsburgh.
In the 1970s, he took part in the development of the monumentalization of outdoor sculptures with the Group of Ten (Prouvost Foundation, Marcq-en-Baroeul) and received a series of public commissions. At the end of the 1980s, hi
