VASE DEPICTING A SQUATTING WOMAN
Tlatilco Culture, Central High Plateau of Mexico
Middle Pre-Classical, 1200-600 BC.
H. 23 cm - W. 14 cm
Orange-brown slip ceramic, remains of black paint.
Naked woman, breasts in slight relief, arms resting on the knees.
Smiling face, open mouth showing the teeth. Ears
are pierced. Opening on the top of the skull serving as a spillway for the
container. On the reverse side the support handle is missing.
Acc., surface wear.
Origin:
