François Simon Alphonse GIROUX (1776-1848) ran an art supplies and toys shop and a workshop for tableware, furniture and luxury items, reusing precious materials (lacquer, porcelain, hard stones...).
This production is intended for a bourgeois and aristocratic clientele, notably the royal family of France during the Restoration.
In 1838, his two sons, Alphonse-Gustave (1810-1886) and
André (1801-1879), took over the company and developed it under the name "Alphonse GIROUX et Cie".
