Autograph letter signed by the pseudonym " Georges Meyzargues ".
In this letter written probably in the autumn of 1943, Louis Aragon, then in the Resistance, uses a pseudonym to discreetly inform his correspondent: "Good news: from now on Mr. Teste is one of us. There are others more difficult to express. But the holidays are coming soon, and I would like to send their gift to Stanislas' children as I understand it. "Further on, he mentions the "friends of St. [Stanislaus] in Dieleufit".
It is probably Stanislas Fumet, a journalist and editor, who published Louis Aragon's poem La Rose et le
Réséda in the newspaper Le Mot d'Ordre on March 11, 1943.
From November 11, 1942, Louis and
Elsa fled Nice and took refuge in turn in Comps, then in Lyon and finally in
Saint-Donat sur l'Herbasse, from July 1943. During this period of clandestinity, Aragon uses many pseudonyms, such as Jacques Destaing,
Lucien Andrieux, François La Colère, Paul
Wattelet and Georges Meyargues. It is with this last pseudonym that he signs "The Year of the Honeysuckle" published in
Poetry 43.
