Signed autograph letter addressed to
Camille PISSARRO " En la ville de Pontoise ", December 11, 1872, 2 pages in-12 in ink.
Cézanne recounts that he missed his train after visiting Lucien Pissarro's son and was therefore delayed by one day: "This is to tell you in astonishment that I missed the train. Needless to say, I will be your host until tomorrow, Wednesday. He then notes that Madame Pissarro asked him to bring back from Paris "the Nestlé flour for little Georges and Lucien's shirts".
On the other sheet, Lucien Pissarro adds a note asking for "a colour box".
A charming letter illustrating the very family relationship between Cézanne and Pissarro and their respective families.
