Clock with the allegory of Love putting the bird back in a cage, in white marble and gilt bronze, decorated on both sides with the movement of a Love, on a cloud, holding a bird, and a woman holding a cage, a second bird at her feet. Rectangular base with anterior angles, decorated with floral scrolls and love and a frieze of pearls, and resting on six spinning top feet. White enamelled dial, unsigned, black painted hour-markers, Arabic numerals for the hours, dots for the minutes. Brocot suspension movement. Early 20th century. 31 x 25 x 12 cm. Gilding and marble gilding.
