Japan Large figurine from the Japanese Buddhist pantheon embodying the goddess Kannon in one of her many representations, in carved gilded wood sitting on a throne in the shape of a lotus flower. She wears a pectoral jewel and a tiara. Edo period, 18th century (one arm is glued back together and the mandorla is missing).
