Important and fine Tabriz (North West of Iran) around 1930/40
Lambswool velvet on cotton foundations. A sea field with polychrome flowering sprays framing a large central medallion of old rose in the shape of an elongated diamond encrusted with an ivory star-shaped flower in pastel tones. Four old gold spandrels with polychrome flower crowns.
Five borders, the main ruby of which has sown with flowering palmettes in pastel shades surrounded by crowns of old pink
flowers. Approx 7000 knots per dm2
