CERVANTES. DON QUICHOTTE OF THE SLEEVE. Original lithographs of SALVADOR DALI. Paris, J. Foret, 1957. In folio in sheets, illustrated cover, blue publisher's folder and slipcase. "The lithographs of my Quixote will be the lithographs of the century" (Salvador Dali). To trace the wings of the mills, the artist had stuffed a rhinoceros horn with breadcrumbs... ! These lithographic collages alone would constitute, in the opinion of the craftsmen and master lithographers themselves, an unprecedented and inimitable achievement. The illustration consists of 12 original lithographs, 3 double page and 9 full page. Unique print run of 197 copies, ONE OF THE 50 NUMBERS ON RIVES, WITH A CONTINUATION OF 12 COLOUR PLATES ON IMPERIAL JAPAN. Complete copy of the booklet: History of a great book.
