ANDERSEN. HISTORY AND ADVENTURES. New translation. Paris, Lunois, 1909. In-8, fir-green morocco, triple gilt fillet on plates, very ornate ribbed spine, large gilt inner frames, purple-brown silk endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine (Canape). Remarkable work entirely composed by the painter ALEXANDRE LUNOIS. It is adorned with 52 original etchings, 2 of which are off-text, and 80 colour woodcut compositions by Suzanne Lepère. The typography, in red, black and bistre adds a particular harmony to this book, rightly considered one of the most successful of its time. Edition of 146 copies only, this one numbered on specially watermarked Arches. A tiny tear at the top of the first plate, the binding is particularly well executed.
