Important Kurdish SENNEH (North West Persia), late 19th century
A flamboyant red serrated field supports a sowing of small Boteh plants framed by four small ivory spandrels and enriched by a diamond-shaped medallion with multicoloured floral compositions. The frame is composed of seven borders (the seven steps that lead to paradise) marine, ivory and brick, all with garlands of polychrome flowers placed on plant stems. Highlighting of flowers on a blue background.
