ISPAHAN woven in the workshops of the famous Master weaver SERAFIAN, signed (Persia), mid 20th century A magnificent starry, vegetal, multicoloured rosette and its cruciform pendants, throne on a brick field covered with flowering foliage in circumvolution. Four elegant spandrels, with ivory arabesques, frame the ensemble. Four ivory and navy counterborders with floral interlacing surround the main sky with polychrome floral compositions, placed on delicate plant stems. Signed in an ivory cartouche, surrounded by Iranian colours in the lower kilim. 215 x 142cm
