Original protective cardboard kept with the printed label of the title. Cramer, 136. Posthumous first edition of Reverdy's last poem and first print of Picasso's 10 original aquatints. Pierre Reverdy's (1889-1960) magnificent and poignant ultimate poem, considered by the poet himself as his poetic testament, Moving Sand draws up the "balance sheet of a lifetime" devoted to the verb. This poem was published, after Picasso agreed to create the illustration, in memory of his old friend who had died. He made these ten superb aquatints, which are among the most surprising of his great graphic series of 1963-1965 based on the theme of the "painter and his model" Edition at 255 copies, all on Rives vellum and signed in pencil by the artist. Named copy of Jean Leymarie (1919-2006). An art historian and former director of the Musée national d'art moderne, he worked to establish 20th century painting in the national collections. Perfect condition (minimal tear on the back of the shirt at the "B" of the title).
