First edition of the famous trilogy of Jules Vallès' social novel (1832-1885).
The novel consists of three volumes: Jacques Vingtras (1879), L'Insurgé (1881), and Le Bachelier (1886). "This trilogy is a personal novel. Vallès only tells stories he has lived through. Jacques Vingtras' trilogy was written in the hedges of society. Although Vallès excels in environmental observations, he is less an observer than a visionary" (Laffont-Bompiani).
The first volume is present in the real original edition, published under the pseudonym Jean de la Rue with the title Jacques Vingtras (the following editions will adapt the author's real name and the title will be changed to L'Enfant.
Good examples, well established by Devauchelle, slightly rubbed jaws.
