Exceptional gold and sapphire ring. Conical ribbed kitten, adorned with granules and set with a precious stone, ring underlined by a twist between two serrated edges interrupted by four openwork quatrefoils. Italy ?, around 1400 Height: 2.9 cm - Width: 2.3 cm Gross weight: 6 g In a leather case gilded with small iron, 18th century Provenance: old Italian collection installed in Bruges A ring probably from the same workshop, set with an emerald, is kept in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (inv. n° 652-1871, fig. a and b.).
