Exceptional gold and sapphire ring. Conical ribbed kitten, adorned with granules and set with a precious stone, ring underlined by a twist between two serrated edges interrupted by four openwork quatrefoils.

In a leather case gilded with small iron, 18th century Provenance: old Italian collection installed in Bruges
A ring probably from the same workshop, set with an emerald, is kept in the collections of the Victoria and
Albert Museum in London (inv. n° 652-1871, fig. a and b.). It is indicated as being carried out in Europe between 1400 and 1500.
