Important gold, ruby and blue glass paste ring. Kitten of inverted pyramidal shape, bordered by a border, decorated with an oval cabochon in glass paste surrounded by fifteen small rubies; flat ring decorated with a braid of two threads. Byzantine or Visigothic art, 6th / 7th century Height: 4.2 cm - Width: 2.5 cm Gross weight: 26 g (small deformation of the edging, limestone deposit around the glass paste) The shape of this exceptional ring links it to the Byzantine sphere with its large inverted pyramid-shaped bezel, while its rich ornamentation with its braided ring and precious stone cabochons recalls Visigothic art.
