Analogies:
A similar composition, of comparable dimensions (Canvas; 99.5 x 74 cm.) dated 1708 is kept in the Dresden Museum (see Dresden Exhibition Catalogue or The Princes' Dream). The Gallery of paintings in the 18th century. No. 69, pp. 228-229. Dijon Museum, June-October 2001- RMN 2001).
A different, but very similar composition on the theme of the Sleep of the Child Jesus, with a comparable position of the Child asleep in the shade of the drapery, as well as the hands of the Virgin and her blue coat, from the former collection of Louis XIV, belongs to the Musée Du Louvre (Cf. Stéphane Loire. 18th century Italian paintings from the Louvre Museum, pp. 360363, Gallimard 2017).
