3 L.A.S. "Jean Cocteau" and MAQUETTE autograph, 1921, to Bertrand GUÉGAN; 3 pages in-4 and 1 page in-8. Correspondence with the artistic director of La Sirène Publishing for the publication of his collection of poems Vocabulaire. Besse en Chandesse 23 July 1921. He is recovering from nerve pain. He asks to send the proofs of the collection urgently: "I must revise the punctuation - (don't tell the Siren about it)"... [Early August?]. He returns the corrected proofs: "I punctuated the book. It is a tragedy, I know it well, but less terrible than corrections by Blanche and Proust. Don't mention it. Help me with this. Calm the printer down and press it. I would like to see Vocabulary drawn without numbering and a fairly large number of luxuries, giving the Siren the service of a limited edition. (I don't approve of the 1st luxury edition)"..."... Piquey[August]. He would like to add "3 or 4 poems" to the collection: "Should we send them to you immediately or wait for my return?"... He asks about the publisher LAFFITTE who had promised him money: "I have never had less than since an article in Le Mercure where the author believes I am a billionaire and so are my musicians." Autograph model for the title page or cover, with drawing of the Siren, and project of "frame with big and small line". We attach another model designed by Bertrand GUÉGAN with typographical indications, and a proof of the title.
