L.S. "Kandinsky", Dessau, January 5, 1927, to the Berlin gallery owner Hanns KRENZ; 1 page and a half small in-fol.
with his stamp in the head (small slit in the fold); in German.
About his engravings and the Bauhaus.
He thanks him for his kind letter for his birthday on October 5, as well as the Kestner Gesellschaft (art gallery in Hanover). He regrets having seen him so little time in Dessau. In the crowd at the Bauhaus, it was impossible for him to speak at length with those who interested him particularly ("In der Menschenmenge, die sich damald im Bauhaus versammelte, war es mir leider unmöglich diejenigen ausführlicher zu sprechen, die mich besonders interessiert haben"). In recent months he has been so incredibly busy that he has been prevented from doing the things he wanted to do. The rapid pace and filling of our time has intensified during this period. Only now can he rest, that is, be able to work for him again ("Das rasende Tempo und die
Fülle unser Zeit hat sich in dieser Zeitspanne besonders verschärft.
Erst jetzt komme ich etwas zur Ruhe, d.h. ich kann auch wieder viel meht fur mich arbeiten").
At Krenz's request, two years ago he sent 9 lithos and two etchings ("9 Lithos und 2 Radierungen") to the Kestner
Gesellschaft.
He now has very few of these leaves left, and he would like them returned to him if they have not been sold ("Da ich jetzt von diesen Blättern nur noch sehr wenige habe, würde ich Ihnen für die
Rücksendung dieser Blätter falls sie nicht verkauft sind sehr dankbaar sein"). He lists them: "Litho - "Orange".......................................................................... 11, 15, 48, ,, "Violett"......, 33, 44, 45,,, "Schwarz".......,, 44, 45, 46, Radierung 1924................... N° 26, 29».
