Signed autograph letter, signed « Charles Dickens », Athenaeum Club, London 27 June 1847, to Moritz FEIST, in Frankfurt am Main; 2 pages in-8 format, envelope ; in English.
Letter to Julius Moritz FEIST (1802-1870). “I am exceedingly sorry not to have had the opportunity of making your acquaintance, when you came to me with so good an introduction as that of our friend Count d’Orsay. When you next visit London, I shall hope to be more fortunate, and that you will then find me in my own house (Devonshire Terrace, Regent’s Park) where I have not been able to reside since my recent return to England, in consequence of having let it, during my absence abroad. Allow me to express the pleasure I have had with the receipt of your obliging letter; and may except the assurance of my consideration. I am Sir Faithfully Yours Charles Dickens.”
