Signed autograph letter, signed « Mary Cassatt », Villa Angeletto, Grasse 6 April [1913], to the art critic Achille SEGARD; 4 pages in-8 format. Lovely letter relative to her mother and family, addressed to the author of Mary Cassatt, un peintre des enfants et des mères (Ollendorff , 1913). She discusses the book and sends corrections. This is the occasion to evoke her upbringing, her Huguenot origins. She has seen RENOIR in Grasse who is worried about his eyes. She was in contact with the DURAND-RUEL who purchased a painting by her and wanted it authenticated. She saw the nieces of Degas and thanks SEGARD for his article on their uncle…
