Enchères 14 octobre 2019 mode et textiles - Londres

Enchérissez sur la liste des lots Kerry Taylor Auctions : 14 octobre 2019 - Our October auction features a whopping 500 lots, dating from the 17th century to the present day. Whatever your interest, hopefully there is something for you!

A real curiosity - lots 386 to 388 feature an unusual group of militarily-accurate ‘Soldier Boy’ uniforms, a court livery and dinner suit, all complete with accessories. Made mainly in the late 19th century by an elite children’s tailor for a very privileged child, they have remained in the Hargreaves family, who provided four generations of Grenadier Guard officers. Presumably this little chap went on to follow in the family tradition...

For bigger boys, we have an outrageously colourful collection of Lily Pulitzer menswear- featuring sports jackets, trousers and shirts in flamboyant novelty prints. Examples from her ‘Men’s Stuff’ label are rare, due to the fact that it only lasted a couple of years during the late 1960s-early 70s.

For the contemporary fashionistas, we have a fabulous private collection of Chanel Boutique, including runway examples as recent as 2016, as well as the wardrobe of a Royal Princess, which features designer labels including Prada, Loewe, Dolce & Gabanna, Louis Vuitton, Erdem and Christopher Kane. We also have a stunning evening gown by Andrew Gn, Pre-Fall 19, estimated at £200-300, still with its original retail tags attached and currently retailing at Matches fashion for £5,143. This just proves that when it comes to value, why buy new when you can buy from Kerry Taylor Auctions?

Textiles include a unique 'Feed the World' Live Aid quilt, by Anne Watts, June 1985-1987 (lot 398). It incorporates Live Aid related motifs, Bob Geldof's signature and the signatures of the air crew who flew aid to Africa and India. It took 18 months to complete and was raffled to raise money for the Live Aid cause in 1987. The Live Aid concert which took place July 13th 1985 eventually raised around £130 million for famine relief.

A private collection of Islamic textiles includes a rare Ottoman early 17th century embroidered quilt facing, lot 438, estimate £6,000-10,000. Lots 492-498 are rarely seen Military Chinese rank badges and lot 500 is a Chinese summer gauze dragon robe, circa 1900 - the final lot in the sale, estimated at £1,000-1,500.

Auction Info
Purchasers will be charged a buyer’s premium which for lots up to £50,000, is 25% of the hammer price. For lots selling for above £50,000, the buyer’s premium is 20% of the hammer price. The premium is subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.
Auction: Monday October 14th at 10am
Venue: 249-253 Long Lane, Bermondsey, London, SE1 4PR
Viewing:
Friday October 11th, 9-5pm
Sunday October 13th, 11-4pm Kerry Taylor Auctions - Londres
