In his manifesto, the jewelry designer, who founded his house in 1992, moving later to Place Vendôme in Paris, states “I believe in good fortune more than I believe in wealth … What I believe drives me to do. What I do drives me to believe.”

Brett was long associated with the pioneering Signals Gallery in London – a hotbed for avant-garde artwork – which he cofounded in 1964. This round of sales of the famous collection, featuring manuscripts, first editions, art bindings and drawings, will shed new light on great 19th-century writers.

Launched in 2020 by artgenève, the festival will take place for the first time in the capital from June 26 to July 7. Galleries will each be associated with a gastronomic restaurant whose chefs (Amandine Chaignot, Bruno Verjus, Guy Savoie etc.) will propose 12 dishes inspired by a work of art from the partner store.

Designer Paul Fortune died on June 14 in California at age 69. Mr. Fortune's passing was reported by Architectural Digest and confirmed by his husband ceramicist Christopher Guy Brock. Sofia Coppola, Marc Jacobs and other celebrities were among his clients and friends.
