This bronze by Edgar Degas belongs to the posthumous, authentic and legitimate production by the artist, and was edited by the head of the foundry and one for Degas’ heirs Adrien-Aurélien Hébrard. It is expected to obtain the highest place on the podium,

Edgar Degas (1834-1917), Cheval marchant au pas relevé (Walking Horse with Raised Hoof), bronze with brown patina, foundry mark "cire perdue A.A Hebrard", numbered 11/E on the terrace, 23.1 x 22.5 x 8.6 cm/9.0 x 8.8 x 3.3 in.

This Walking Horse with Raised Hoof was made from the original red wax model designed by Edgar Degas in 1881. Cast between 1919 and 1937, it is part of an edition of twenty proofs numbered from A to T, of which seventeen are identified.
