COURTESY 193 GALLERY

The theme of the 11th Private Choice fair is "Lifelines" (visit requires registration on privatechoice.fr), which will showcase art and design in the intimate setting of a Haussmannian apartment at 7 avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt. In the same vein, the Maison Pierre Cardin (59 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré) will host the 20th edition of Chambres à Part, where furniture will dialogue with artworks. Moderne Art Fair will take place less than 2 miles away at 10 avenue de la Grande-Armée (near Étoile). Divided into three sections—modern art, contemporary art and design—it will feature known, successful artists. Paris Internationale will hold its eighth edition in the photographer Nadar’s former studio at 35 boulevard des Capucines. The fair, which is free for visitors and charges exhibitors a small participation fee, will bring together 59 galleries from 26 countries. Newcomer Offscreen, a small fair devoted to "installations and still and moving images", will take place in the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. Other events are more specialized. For example, the eighth edition of Asia Now will be held at the Monnaie de Paris with 88 galleries representing artists from across Asia and its diaspora. This year’s theme, "Bonfires", will focus on the fire and ceramic arts. Lastly, AKAA (Also Known As Africa) returns to the Carreau du Temple for the seventh time, bringing together 38 galleries featuring the African scene and its diasporas. The rich program will take movement as its theme.
