Auguste Rodin (1840-1917), Young Mother in a Grotto, bronze with a black patina, signed, model created c. 1885, sand casting by Griffoul et Lorge or François Rudier, between 1887 and 1901, h. 37.5 cm/14.76 in. excluding the green marble base.

Only Auguste Rodin could have celebrated maternal love with such vigor, an eternal theme illustrated by our sculpture of a mother and young child nestling in a protective niche.
