Two of his photographs are already among the world's ten most expensive: Spiritual America, which garnered $4 M in 2014 at Christie's, and Untitled (Cowboy), which fetched $3.7 M at the same auction. However, paintings now dominate his sales and account for 67% of his turnover, with photography established at 31%. This trend was confirmed by a new record set with Sotheby's Hong Kong in June 2021, when Runaway Nurse, an ink and acrylic on canvas (280 x 167 cm/110.2 x 65.7 in), finished at $12.1 M, up 25% on its last auction performance in 2016. In 2014, for his exhibition "New Portraits", Richard Prince printed Instagram posts, which were exhibited at the Gagosian Gallery. There are already whispers that the artist may find further ideas with NFTs.
