An eagerly awaited painting by Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer, Vase de fleurs sur un entablement (Vase of Flowers on an Entablature), took first place with €24,000 (see photo). Signed at the bottom left with one of his forenames, Baptiste, the work (60 x 49 cm/23.62 x 19.29 in) features its creator’s lavish vocabulary, flowers blooming in a Medici vase, to meet the precise canons of the classical age.

The still life was followed by an interesting historical portrait of Amadeus IX of Savoy (1435–1472) performing acts of charity, which was rewarded with €14,400. An anonymous Piedmontese artist painted the scene (93 x 76 cm/36.61 x 29.92 in) c.1680 to honor the monarch, known for his great piety and charity towards the poor, for which he was beatified in 1677. The bidding on Chasse, Gréville côte est (Hunting, Gréville, East Coast), a pencil and pastel drawing on yellow paper by Félix Buhot signed and dated “9 septembre 1884” (39 x 26.8 cm/15.35 x 10.55 in), reached €8,400.

The sale on the previous day, August 7, focused on decorative objects, including an important 19th-century brandy keg called "Bacchus" in black enameled terracotta with kaolin highlights from the kilns of Vindefontaine or Nehou in La Manche (23 x 16 x 14.5 cm/9.05 x 6.30 x 5.70 in). It features a seated figure holding a bottle near a glass (€11,640).
